I need tfa Optimus to be the holder of the matrix of leadership. The best part is that he doesn’t realize the significance of the artifact. So for example he and old meggsy are having a little tussle and op gets part of his chest plate tore off and the matrix is just there. Megatrons like ‘wtf I thought you where a nobody but your the prime’ and Optimus is so confused because the senate had all the info and story’s about the past primes and the 13. So Optimus is like ‘well I’m not technically a prime” and megs has to explain to this poor little autobot that no that bauble in his chest is not normal and that yes it technically means that op outranks anyone else. So op because he got self worth issues is like ‘oh ok so I’ll turn this over to sentinel to give to ultra Magnus’ at this point the ghosts of the thirteen prime show up scream NO and put Optimus in mandatory therapy.

Can’t stop thinking about how Vi is slowly turning into the worst version of Vander. The version of Vander that killed a man in front of two grieving children, the version of Vander that tried to drown Silco and almost succeeded, only to be left an angry, bleeding mess in the polluted water between Zaun and Piltover. (Which is totally its own symbolism thing but that’s brainrot for another day)

Just like how Caitlyn, in her path for vengeance, became her mother, a woman she tried to separate herself from in whatever way she could. Just like how Mel will fall victim to the same curses as her mother. Just as how Victor is essentially turning into early Singed. Just like how Jinx is becoming a mix of their mother and Silco (also brainrot for another day), Vi is and will always be her father, it’s something she can’t escape.

God even. Like. Okay there are spoilers for S2 here under the cut:

Jinx's whole issue is that nobody understands her. Silco was the only person to treat her severe mental health issues with anything even BORDERING on compassion, and was also the only person to defend her to the end - even when she hurt him by accident, even when all he had to do to achieve all of his dreams was give her up. If ANYONE else had've ever extended that same compassion to her, I think she would've turned out so much better. She IS getting better! She has Sevika now, and the kid, because Silco's people are actually Loyal, vs Vi's devotion to the made up version of Powder in her head.

...And now Vi's kinda in the same spot by being alone. She has NOBODY on her side. She just keeps making worse and worse decisions, like gassing the streets of Zaun, and it makes sense! Nobody can survive alone! They're all acting out in pain! I don't blame either of them for combusting. BOTH of them have made every single situation they've been in worse and it's just. It's such a good tragedy

So my only 'criticism' of Arcane so far (and this is about Season 1 more than anything so dw about spoilers) isn't even a criticism aslkdj.

But I do think the story would be just a liiiiittle bit stronger if they took a little more time to hammer home that the REASON Vi has such absolutely dogshit people skills is that SHE'S BEEN IN PRISON SINCE SHE WAS 13ISH.

She acts like it's been business as usual in the Lanes, but it's actually very very very important to understanding her behavior that She Was Not Socialized. She Does Not Know How To Make Good Decisions. She Was Incarcerated As A Child. She doesn't have friends. She doesn't have experience.

And her (warped and angelic) idea of Powder getting her through her time in prison also plays into her being utterly unable to help Jinx, but that's a different essay
